Expanded Child Care Program Can Help You Reduce Costs

One of the biggest barriers for people looking to rejoin the workforce is the cost of child care. If that's the case for you, Tri-Share can help!

Through MI Tri-Share, the cost of an employee's child care is shared equally among the employer, the employee and the State of Michigan — a three-way split — with coordination being provided regionally by a MI Tri-Share facilitator hub.

The average Michigander spends about $1,100 a month in child care. When enrolled in this program, they can pay a third of that, allowing parents to get back to work knowing that their kids are safe, cared for and have the opportunity to succeed.

Tri-Share, which began about 18 months ago, has expanded to cover 59 Michigan counties and the city of Detroit. For more information about the program, including eligibility requirements, please go to Michigan.gov/TriShare
