We celebrate National Veteran and Military Families Month each November to honor the sacrifices members of the armed services and their families make every day.
The dedicated team of veterans at Veterans’ Employment Services (VES) is on hand all year long to help eligible veterans and their spouses reach their employment goals.

National Apprenticeship Week was celebrated Nov. 14-20 to highlight Registered Apprenticeships are viable alternatives to a traditional college path. Registered Apprenticeships allow job seekers to learn through a combination of on-the-job training and classroom studies, reducing the potential for debt. You'll also earn a nationally recognized credential that contributes to Michigan's Sixty By 30 educational attainment goal.
And the best part? 92% of apprentices retain employment after completing a Registered Apprenticeship program, with an average starting salary of $70,000 per year upon completion. You can find apprenticeship programs in manufacturing, constructions, healthcare, retail, education and much more!

One of the biggest barriers for people looking to rejoin the workforce is the cost of child care. If that's the case for you, Tri-Share can help!
Through MI Tri-Share, the cost of an employee's child care is shared equally among the employer, the employee and the State of Michigan — a three-way split — with coordination being provided regionally by a MI Tri-Share facilitator hub.
The average Michigander spends about $1,100 a month in child care. When enrolled in this program, they can pay a third of that, allowing parents to get back to work knowing that their kids are safe, cared for and have the opportunity to succeed.
Tri-Share, which began about 18 months ago, has expanded to cover 59 Michigan counties and the city of Detroit. For more information about the program, including eligibility requirements, please go to Michigan.gov/TriShare.

Michigan Works!
The Michigan Works! network supports those in need across the state. There are 16 Michigan Works! in the state, covering all 83 counties. All provide job seekers with the support, training and services they need to get to work.
