Tuition-Free College

If you’re thinking about starting or returning to college to prepare for a secure and rewarding career, now’s the time. Michigan Reconnect is a new scholarship program for eligible adults 25 years and older who want to pursue an associate degree or skills certificate.

Michigan Reconnect pays the remaining balance of in-district tuition and mandatory fees after other state and federal financial aid have been applied. Students who attend out-of-district community colleges will receive a large tuition discount.

Returning to school is a big decision. But this is the right time to do it. Find application and additional program information at Michigan.gov/Reconnect.

National Apprenticeship Week

National Apprenticeship Week took place November 15-21. Throughout the week, we highlighted why Registered Apprenticeships are a viable alternative to a traditional college education. Apprentices who complete a Registered Apprenticeship program earn an average of $70,000 more per year than their peers who don’t. They are also more likely to maintain employment after completing a Registered Apprenticeship program.

If getting a chance to EARN while you LEARN sounds like a great idea, head to Michigan.gov/Apprenticeship to see how you can get started.
