- In the coming weeks, a large majority of MiSSG reports will be updated to include both MiSSG ID’s and UIC’s, where applicable.

- Review Certification Rosters for Fall, Winter, and/or Spring, and Summer for students who are in “Ready to Certify” status. Failure to certify all students by the certification deadline will prevent a payment for these potentially eligible students.

- The final payment date for Academic Year 2025-26 for all State financial aid programs is scheduled for August 12, 2026. To be included in the final payment, awards must be certified and reimbursements requested by the deadline of 5:00 p.m. on August 11, 2026.
- All institutions must balance expenditures for State financial aid programs following the final payment for the academic year. Institutions must issue any refunds owed to MI Student Aid no later than September 11, 2026 and complete the MI Student Aid Refund Worksheet.
- Review the two award levels for students receiving the MI GEAR UP Scholarship during Academic Year 2026–27.
- Institutions may encounter system slowness or a “System Error” screen when entering or editing the High School Name, Month or Year of graduation in MiSSG for a student.
- Governor Whitmer has signed the Fiscal Year 2027 (FY27) State budget, which includes continued funding for State financial aid programs and MiLEAP initiatives for Academic Year 2026-27.

- Fall Certification and Requests for Reimbursement will be available Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
- Review the Payment Schedule for a complete list of payment details.
- Starting with Academic Year 2025-26, the final day for students to become eligible for the Michigan Achievement Scholarship in MiSSG will be Friday, August 7, 2026.
- If a student’s final semester to initiate the Michigan Achievement Scholarship is in a ‘Ready to Pay’ status, that payment must be moved to ‘Paid’ before any subsequent semesters can be certified.
