Office of Higher Education Staff Update
Congratulations to Nancy Vaughn who recently announced her retirement effective February 20, 2026 from MiLEAP’s Office of Higher Education.
Nancy dedicated more than 23 years of service to the State of Michigan, holding a variety of roles focused on expanding access to postsecondary education and strengthening support for institutions navigating the financial aid process. Her commitment to students and partners has made a lasting impact across the state.
Most recently, Nancy served as Program Coordinator for the Futures for Frontliners and Michigan Reconnect programs, where she played a key role in advancing opportunities for adult learners to pursue a tuition-free pathway to a degree or credential. Her expertise, collaborative spirit, and steady leadership have been deeply valued by colleagues and stakeholders alike.
As Nancy begins this exciting new chapter, we wish her smooth sailing in retirement. An avid cruiser, she is sure to embrace many new adventures on the open seas.
