Michigan Achievement Scholarship Certification Round Up
Thank you for your hard work certifying students in Academic Year 2024-25. Below are a few reminders based on popular inquiries we have been receiving.
Michigan Achievement Scholarship - Quarter 4 Special Process Instructions
If a student’s final semester to initiate the Michigan Achievement Scholarship is in a ‘Ready to Pay’ status, that payment must be moved to ‘Paid’ before any subsequent semesters can be certified.
Please follow the Special Process instructions for each subsequent semester.
How to Verify You’ve Completed Certification
Navigate to the manual certification screen (Image 1) and select the term you’re checking for, if “0 Students Remaining to Certify” is displayed, you have completed all certifications.
Note: There are students who currently remain on your certification roster and screen due to their final semester to initiate falling mid-year (Image 3). This means that you will see students on your certification screen with a message stating “Did Not Enroll within required months.” If the student does not have a “Ready to Pay” status for their final semester to initiate (see above) you do not need to act on the student. This student will fall off your roster for Academic Year 2025-26.
Note: You may see a message stating “Must Certify Prior Terms” (Image 4). Remember that you should perform certifications chronologically. There are some instances where a student who displayed as “Did Not Enroll within required months” in Spring will display as “Must Certify Prior Terms” in the Summer. These students also do not need any action taken if they have not initiated.

We Want to Support Your Work
We are working to make these processes easier, including options to hide students who haven’t initiated. This feature is in progress with our vendor. If you need assistance identifying students who remain 'Ready to Certify' please email Sarah at LaycockS@michigan.gov for support.
