The MI Future Educator Application Cycle for Academic Year 2025-26 is Now Open!
Students may now apply for the Academic Year 2025-26 MI Future Educator Fellowship and the MI Future Educator Stipend. Students can complete the applications in the MiSSG Student Portal.
MI Future Educator Fellowship - Confirmation of Eligibility will open September 2, 2025.
Payment timelines will be shared closer to the start of the 2025-26 Academic Year. Awards and payments are based on approved and available funding.
MI Future Educator Stipend
The MI Future Educator Stipend application will open in stages for each semester. It is important that applicants do not apply until they have accepted their student teaching placement.
- May 1, 2025: Fall 2025 student teachers apply, if they have accepted their student teacher placement.
- November 1, 2025: Spring 2026 student teachers apply, if they have accepted their student teacher placement.
- April 1, 2026: Summer 2026 student teachers apply, if they have accepted their student teacher placement.
If a student teacher is completing more than one semester of student teaching, MI Student Aid will need to manually adjust the application to include all semesters of student teaching.
Institutions may report these students to MI Student Aid at MiStudentAid@Michigan.gov, including the students’ full names, semester of student teaching to be adjusted, and the school district where the student is completing the student teaching. Alternately, the student may also contact MI Student Aid directly for adjustments.
