- Meet institution’s Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy.

Continuous Full-time Enrollment

- ‘Alternative Certification Program’ is defined by the Michigan Department of Education as an approved Michigan alternative route program or an approved post-baccalaureate teacher preparation program for which full-time enrollment is less than 24 credits in an academic year.
-
NEW! Continuous enrollment for a 2024-25 renewal award requires the student demonstrate full-time continuous enrollment in Academic Year 2023-24. Institutions must evaluate continuous full-time enrollment (excluding summer semesters) beginning with the initial semester the student was awarded MI Fellowship and forward. Completing 24 credit hours in Academic Year 2023-24 does not guarantee a student will meet the 2024-25 renewal requirements.

Processing for Academic Year 2024-25
The 2024-25 award year will open in MISSG on September 1, 2024. On this date, you will have full access to certify MI Future Educator Stipends and confirm eligibility for MI Future Educator Fellowships. We intend to begin making MI Future Educator payments on September 4, and payments will be issued weekly thereafter, as needed, with the exception of October 2. Due to fiscal year end we are unable to make payments that week. We will send additional communication at that time to remind you.
Institutions may use the Information Roster in MISSG under Reports to pre-screen students so that the award process can be completed more efficiently in September.
Timeline Notification
As a courtesy to institutions, we have issued an email outlining our timeline to all MI Future Educator applicants. This email informs them that processing cannot begin until September 1 and links to our processing outline from our Web site. We are also updating the language displayed to applicants on our student portal to hopefully make the statuses clearer and also provide some guidance on the wait time between application and confirmation.
