MiSSG has undergone numerous updates to accommodate the 2024-25 FAFSA changes. Please review the following information to ensure your institution takes any action needed. MI Student Aid will send updates detailing additional features as they are finalized in MiSSG.
Michigan Competitive Scholarship (MCS) and Michigan Tuition Grant (MTG) Budgets for Academic Year 2024-25 Confirmation Needed
MCS and MTG budgets have been streamlined to align with new grade levels on the FAFSA. MI Student Aid is asking each institution to review their 2024-2025 budgets in MiSSG to ensure no updates are needed to the converted data. Accurate budgets are critical for the correct determination of eligibility for students.
To confirm your institution's 2024-25 budget, please follow these instructions:
- Log into MiSSG.
- Select Michigan Competitive Scholarship from the MiSSG Menu.
- Select School Profile.
- Change the Academic Year at the top of the screen from Year 2023-24 to 2024-25.
- Select Budget.
- Review both the Tuition and Fees and Room and Board using your institution's 2024-2025 Budget Information.
-
NOTE: If there is no change to budget amounts, click, "The budget amounts have been reviewed and approved," check box.
-
Save.
For private institutions, once the MCS budget is entered, the MTG budget fields will populate automatically with the same budget information. No further action is required in the MTG school profile regarding the budget after MCS is updated.
If a budget is not reviewed by April 15, 2024, your existing 2024-25 Budget Information will be used.
