 A Message from The Mayor
Released: April 8, 2020
My Fellow Highland Parkers:
I write to you at a most critical time in our nation’s history. We are doing all that we can do under the circumstances to deal with the COVID-19 Virus. This International Pandemic has no respect for anyone. Our Police Chief Hilton Napoleon is getting better…
I’ve personally went to Henry Ford Hospital last week for personal observation and was released, we are working hard to protect our police officers from COVID-19 by keeping their environment and vehicles disinfected and sanitized, all of our firemen are taking special precautions in order to continue providing full service to our City as first responders.
We were one of the first communities to shut down in order to avoid social contact to slowdown the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Our Government met and implemented a program designed to assist our seniors and others who may need additional assistance, such as prescriptions and other essentials.
Our City Council is composed two at large members and three district council members assigned to districts 1, 2, and 3…
Our City Council will identify, coordinate and communicate with the Block Club President(s) within the districts they represent to identify the needs of each district. After preparing a list, our local response units will respond to ensure our residents are properly cared for.
I have been in constant contact with Governor Whitmer’s Chief of Staff (Ms. Brown), Ms. L. Garrett (St. Rep.), our Michigan State Police, and Wayne Co. Sheriff (B. Napoleon).
Our Government services are still being provided to our residents. Our strategic meeting was attended by: Judge Officer, Treasurer Jan Bibbs, City Clerk B. Green, Police & Fire Supervisors, DPW, City Council President Clyburn, Attorney T. Ford, and Myself…
Please know that your entire Government is working for you, God Bless and keep you.
Mayor Hubert Yopp.
