Weekly Update!

 

Please find below an update for this week’s activities.
 
City Engineering Department
 
The Department to continue with the Catch basin and inlet cleaning in the northwest sections of the City.
 
123 Net to proceed with restoration work near Sears Street, then crossing Woodward Avenue to 91 Manchester Parkway.
DTE Contractor (Corby Energy Services, Inc.) continues working near 12700 Oakland Park Boulevard, installing an electrical duct bank conduit, scheduled work will be impacted from now until December 6th, 2019.
 
All businesses in the area have been informed by DTE, and no residential homes should be impacted. Site Plan improvements to be performed at 33 Labelle Towers. The site renovations to include a new parking lot, new patio and landscaping.
DPW contractor Cut My Tree Down will continue to remove trees in select locations of the City.
Water Department
 
The City’s emergency contractor will be onsite to repair as needed water main, and structure breaks within the City. The Water Department will have a survey crew in various locations of the City collecting utility information for the FY20 DWRF Program Phase 1 /FY20 SRF Program for water main replacement program design and sewer improvements. A notice of these activities was delivered to the residents/ businesses on Friday (9/27/2019) informing them of these activities. The Water Department will have a geotechnical engineering firm (FK Engineering) in the area collecting soil samples in preparation for the FY20 DWF Program and FY 20 SRF Program.
 
The Water Department will continue with scheduled appointments in various locations for water testing of lead and copper. The Water Department will have a contractor (Corby Energy Services, Inc.) onsite near the 2nd Avenue sinkhole performing additional CCTV investigations and assessments for the completion of the SRF design package.
