Friends – We have had some changes in the Michigan Film
Office I wanted to be sure to share with you. I have stepped into a new role as
Vice President of Corporate Affairs and Ombudsman Services at the Michigan
Economic Development Corporation, but am very pleased to be able to introduce
the new Director of the Michigan Film Office, Jenell Leonard.
Jenell comes to the Film Office from the Executive Office
where she served as Director of External and Strategic Affairs for Lt. Governor
Brian Calley. As Governor Snyder stated in his announcement of her appointment,
Jenell is dedicated to Michigan’s reinvention and brings extensive state
government experience to this position. Her strong background in public policy
and program management, as well as her energy and enthusiasm, will be strong
assets in her new role with the Film Office.
Today is Jenell’s first official day, so I hope you will have
a chance to welcome her in the coming weeks. We have a terrific team here at
the Film Office that will ensure the transition is smooth and business with our
office continues as usual.
It has been a pleasure working with so many of you in
Michigan’s film industry, and beyond. I am proud of all we have accomplished in
the past two years and know the program will continue to be in good hands with
Jenell.
Best wishes, Margaret O’Riley
