Virtual Career Fair Header

Do you have an urgent need for top talent but can’t free up the time, staffing or capital required to take full advantage of traditional job fairs? Through MiVirtualCareerFair, the State of Michigan offers a low cost, no-travel alternative that allows you to connect one-on-one with skilled job seekers from around the country, all from the convenience of your own office. Join us on Wednesday, April 24 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

MiVirtualCareerFair kicked off its 2013 season with an event on March 27, which brought in more than 1,300 job seekers. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to connect with great talent and promote your positions. Employers interested in attending this live virtual event must register and purchase a booth by April 12.

MiVirtualCareerFair provides Michigan employers the opportunity to:

•    Participate in a career fair without the added cost for travel, food and lodging.

•    Customize your virtual booth to match your corporate brand.

•    Engage with top job seekers from anywhere in the country via instant chat and webcam.

•    View and collect resumes and applications from candidates.

•    Receive in-depth, post-event reporting including chat transcripts.

Here’s how it works:  First, you'll register and choose the size and location of your virtual booth in the interactive, online environment. With the help of our experienced staff, you’ll build a career fair presence complete with your company logo, information on your business, and detailed descriptions of the jobs you have available. Then, on the day of the event, you will be able to log in to your booth and interact virtually with job seekers as well as promote your business and your open positions.

Participation in MiVirtualCareerFair costs $300 or $500 based on booth location and size, with discounts available for  taking part in multiple events. In addition to the April 24 date, the state will host 3 additional MiVirtualCareerFair career events in the coming year. Click here for more information and links to demo videos for both employers and job seekers.

After 5 Intern Program Logo

Does your company host summer interns?  If so, we’d like to introduce you to the After 5 Intern Program.

The After 5 Intern Program creates fun and unique after-work events designed to highlight the benefits of living, working and playing in Detroit. Join more than 20 premier companies, including DTE Energy, Marketing Associates, BCBS, GM and others participating in the upcoming fourth annual After 5 Intern Program.

This program is designed to be an add-on to your own summer program, so whether you are hosting 2 or 200+ interns, your interns will experience fun events at local venues, while having the opportunity to meet others their age and begin building the personal ties and networks that will keep them in the area after graduation.

More than 2,000 interns have participated in the program over the past few summers, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with interns confirming that the program helped improve their overall image of Detroit as a place to work and live. For the very reasonable price of $105 per person, it’s a great investment in a proven winner. Follow up today, while there is still availability.
