Greetings and Happy Summer! I hope this finds you well. I’ve been trying to think of something inspiring to say to you today. But instead, I keep finding myself thinking about all the ways that you have inspired me over the past several months. On days that I have felt beaten down, all I have to do is look on Facebook or Instagram. Whether it is a tea party for one at a children’s museum, a video of a baby rhino exploring his new world, words of encouragement, online dance classes or images from your collection…it brings a smile to my face. Know that you are my inspiration. On a daily basis, you are finding ways to stay connected, to provide meaning and most importantly you are the hope that we will be a society that is of, by and for the community. Be well. Creating Connection
This spring and summer have brought unprecedented times to our communities. Arts and culture has played an important role in providing creative outlets and opportunities for communities to come together. Many of these stories are going untold. United States Regional Arts Resilience Fund
A new initiative of the United States Regional Arts Organizations made possible by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, the United States Regional Arts Resilience Fund will award grants of $30,000 – $75,000 to small and mid-sized arts organizations in the Midwest, prioritizing organizations that are led by and serving people of color and Indigenous people, and/or led by and serving people from rural communities.
