UN Procurement Day

Supplier Application + Registration Open

PMBC is working with the United Nations and its affiliate organizations to host its first-ever 2018 United Nations Procurement Day. The goal of this initiative is to help various commodity buyers and managers from the UN identify suppliers for immediate opportunities across several industries including Aerospace, Agriculture, Automotive, Construction, Defense, Engineering, Healthcare and many more.  The UN and its affiliates annually spend approximately $18 billion globally, with more than $3 billion occurring in the United States with qualified and capable suppliers, representing a significant opportunity for the state of Michigan to explore and secure new work. This opportunity represents a significant opportunity for Michigan companies to explore opportunities to supply the UN global network.

UN Procurement

Suppliers will hear from the top four UN procuring organizations - the UN Procurement Division, the UN Development Programme, UNICEF and the World Food Programme - who will discuss how to find and do business with their organizations.  In addition, suppliers will have an opportunity to:

  • Become a registered vendor in the United Nations Global Marketplace (UNGM), for prolonged access to ongoing and future procurement opportunities.
  • Meet with resource partners including the US Commercial Service, the SBA, PTAC and the MEDC International Trade team to learn about global exporting, logistics and other business services available to their companies.

If selected, suppliers will participate in 1:1 meetings with UN procurement teams to discuss immediate opportunities.

The summit will feature an educational morning session with presentations from the four participating UN affiliates, with an afternoon of meetings based on the commodity areas represented in the supplier application. The collective objective for this collaboration will be new bid opportunities and new contracts for Michigan companies.

The 2018 UN Procurement Day will take place on August 23rd, 2018 at the GEM Theatre in Detroit, Michigan. If you’ve already submitted an application, don’t forget to complete your official registration to attend at https://pmbc.connect.space/2018-un-procurement-day/registrations/new. If you don’t wish to apply for 1:1 meetings but would still like to attend, please register here.
