2018 Pure Michigan Agriculture Summit
For the fifth year in a row, Pure Michigan Business Connect and the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development will be hosting the Pure Michigan Agriculture Summit in Novi, MI on March 14th, 2018. Each year, PMBC and MDARD organize a matchmaking event in the state that helps connect purchasers in the Midwest with local food growers and suppliers to effectively increase Michigan spending in the agriculture industry.
Here’s how you can participate:
-
SUPPLIERS: If your product is Michigan made
and you’re looking to sell to grocery stores, restaurants, entertainment
venues, institutions such as hospitals, universities, and corporations that are
interested in buying fresh produce, bakery items, animal proteins, alcoholic
and non-alcoholic beverages, packaged snacks, specialty items and more, you
will have an opportunity to meet with buyers in one-on-one meetings or at
walk-up tables during the matchmaking event. Through a custom application
process, we collect needs from purchasing companies like Meijer, Busch’s
Market, Kroger and Whole Foods, and give you an opportunity to apply for
meetings with them. The supplier application will be opening in the next couple weeks.
-
BUYERS: If you’re a purchaser interested in supporting Michigan suppliers of agriculture products including fresh produce, bakery items, animal proteins, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, packaged snacks, specialty items and more, you will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with up to 15 companies during the matchmaking event. Supplier vetting and recommendation is done through a custom application process with you selecting companies you’d like to meet with. A walk-up table to network with additional suppliers is available throughout the event as well. Over 300 Michigan suppliers have attended in past years’ events and we anticipate over 350 in attendance this year.
