Join the Ann Arbor Tech Trek on Friday, June 17

Tour the latest in innovation on Friday, June 17, 2016 for inspiration, product demonstrations, great food and a chance to win prizes.

Ann Arbor startups and emerging technology companies will open their doors to the public for the second annual A2 Tech Trek event.

Last year, over 800 people enjoyed this fun-filled event, hosted by Ann Arbor SPARK, where several Ann Arbor technology companies showcased their latest innovations.

There are incentives to visit as many locations as possible and share your experience on social media. Each company will create a fun, unique experience that reflects their culture and demonstrates their product or service. The goal is to inspire entrepreneurs and job seekers to find new opportunities. These are the businesses that are driving the economy forward in the Ann Arbor region.

When: Friday, June 17, 2016, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Creative Services Videographer/Editor with WILX 10

WILX 10

WILX-TV, the NBC affiliated television station for Central Michigan, is currently seeking a Creative Services Videographer/Editor.

The Creative Services Videographer position involves non-linear editing, shooting, and knowledge of graphics. Post-production skills will be used for commercial and promotional content.

Qualified individuals will be able to work well in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, and be self-motivated, flexible, extremely organized, detail-oriented, and work well with commercial clients.

Additional requirements include:

  • Editing skills with graphics/text effects in a file-based environment.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite 6, with an emphasis on Premier and Photoshop preferred.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work independently or in a group setting.

City Assessor Vacancy in Kingsford

The City of Kingsford is seeking a Level II City Assessor.

Minimum qualifications include a State of Michigan Level II Assessors Certification or STC equivalent, a high school diploma, and a valid Michigan driver's license.

The City Assessor is an Officer of the City who reports to the City Council and works under the day to day supervision of the City Manager. The Assessor performs all work associated with the preparation of, and the accounting for, the City's various property tax rolls. Additionally, the Assessor administers all of the City's tax abatement and exemption programs and assists in the administration of zoning.

Additional duties and responsibilities include:

  • Planning, organization and inspection, appraisals, recordings and verification of real and personal property assessments.
  • Field inspections of property; analyzing structural and locational value and evaluating other factors to determine property values for assessment purposes.
  • Reviewing documents for ownership, descriptions, sales data and other pertinent information.
  • Preparing various correspondence, records and reports, including all reports and forms required by the State of Michigan.
  • Serving as a tax resource to the general public.
