Edgerton emphasized that entrepreneurial development is key to revitalizing Michigan’s economy that entrepreneurial firms have different financing needs and capital formation can often be a significant impediment to aspiring entrepreneurs.

She said providing entrepreneurship education, along with LARA’s work on streamlining the state’s regulatory and licensing environments are necessary to creating an environment that encourages entrepreneurial growth.

“We held a couple of these seminars last fall where large audiences gave rave reviews,” said CSCL Acting Director Julia Dale. “Participants commented on how the seminars greatly exceeded their expectations, the speakers were fantastic, and that they provided “a great overture of so many funding choices.’”

The events are being offered by the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs and the Corporations, Securities & Commercial Licensing Bureau in partnership with the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, the Small Business Association of Michigan, and the Michigan - National Federation of Independent Business.

There will be no charge for parking or admission to the seminars. Facilities hosting the seminars are accessible to people with disabilities.
