HIGHWAY:
Oakland Avenue over M-8 (Davison Freeway)
CLOSEST CITY:
Highland Park
START DATE:
Monday, March 23, 2015
ESTIMATED END DATE:

PROJECT DETAILS:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $2.7 million in bridge repairs in Highland Park in Wayne County. This includes Oakland Avenue over M-8 (Davison Freeway) and the M-8 (Davison Freeway) ramp to southbound I-75. Road repairs include replacing concrete on bridges and beam repairs.
TRAFFIC IMPACT:
Motorists will find southbound Oakland Avenue over M-8 (Davison Freeway) already closed, along with the westbound M-8 service drive and ramps from M-8 and I-75 to the shared exit of Oakland and Woodward avenues. These closures are in preparation for the complete closure of M-8 (Davison Freeway) under Oakland Avenue this weekend from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for demolishing the bridge surface.
The eastbound M-8 (Davison Freeway) ramp to southbound I-75 ramp is expected to be closed from mid-May through late fall as part of the project.
