Ramp closure: SB US-131 to Wealthy Street, Grand Rapids, July 31 - August 1

The off ramp from southbound US-131 to Wealthy Street will close for bridge work 9 p.m. tonight (Thursday) through 5 a.m. tomorrrow. Motorists will be directed to the Market Street exit.
The work is weather dependent.

Continuing work activities:
US-131 Closures
- The EB/WB I-196 Ramps to SB US-131 are closed for bridge improvement work at SB US 131 over Bridge Street until August 27, 2014. The ramps from I-196 to Ottawa Avenue will remain open to downtown Grand Rapids. To access southbound US-131 from I-196, motorists will need to follow the signed detour route via northbound US-131 to Ann Street.
- The SB US-131 Pearl Street Exit will remain closed until August 3. Motorist are advised to use the posted detour route, via the Market Street exit or the Wealthy Street exit; then back to northbound US-131 to Pearl Street.
- Southbound US-131 will have a traffic shift configuration with two lanes open from Leonard Street to Wealthy Street from July 11 to August 27, 2014.
- At Leonard Street, the southbound US-131 far left lane will be an exit-only lane to eastbound I-196.
- At I-196/US-131 Interchange, the southbound US-131 lanes will be shifted towards the median until August 3. This shift will allow bridge repair work to occur on US-131 over Grand River, Market Ave. and Grandville Ave.
LOCAL STREETS
Bridge Street motorist will experience daily EB and WB lane closures under US-131. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction daily for bridge rehabilitation work from July 7 to August 27.
