MDOT Releases NEVI Round 3 RFP to Expand Michigan’s EV Charging Network

LANSING, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) has officially released the Round 3 Request for Proposals (RFP) under the National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) Program, continuing efforts to provide EV charging access to communities statewide, supporting long-range travel and tourism.

The Round 3 RFP was released on June 8, and proposals are due August 7. This round will deploy the remaining NEVI formula funds to strategically close gaps in Michigan’s charging network, enhance reliability, and expand access to EV infrastructure across the state.

Interested stakeholders are encouraged to begin preparing now, including identifying team partners, and reviewing available program resources. MDOT will host a virtual pre-proposal meeting on June 18 at 3 p.m. (EST). The virtual meeting link and the following additional resources are available on the MDOT NEVI Round 3 website.

  • Site Host Quick Start Guide to provide an overview of the program, steps to get involved and information on project companies that participated in previous NEVI rounds to help site hosts identify potential partners.
  • Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document to offer answers to common questions related to eligibility, application requirements, contracting, and program implementation.
