Restore 94 Advisory
Weekend work:
Fri 8pm-Mon 5am:
- WB I-94, Oakwood to Wayne, 1 LANE OPEN
Sat 5am-2028:
- EB Ecorse RAMP CLOSED to EB I-94
- WB Ecorse RAMP CLOSED to WB I-94
Sat-Sun 5am-7pm:
- WB I-94 RAMP to Vining and SB Vining RAMP to WB I-94 CLOSED
- WB I-94 RAMP to Wayne and NB Wayne RAMP to WB I-94 CLOSED
Sat 7am-9am:
- EB/WB I-94, Middlebelt to Inkster, intermittent 15-minute stoppages
Beginning Monday 6/8/26 – Spring 2027:
Reconstruction of the bridge carrying the Southfield freeway (M-39) over Ecorse Creek between I-94 and Outer Drive, requires lane and ramp closures in the I-94 and M-39/Southfield interchange.
Beginning 9:00 am, Monday, 6/8 - May 2027:
- EB I-94 ramps to NB and SB M-39/Southfield Freeway will be CLOSED.
Detour is to go further east on EB I-94 to WB US-12/Michigan Ave to M-39/Southfield.
- WB I-94 ramps to NB/SB M-39/Southfield Freeway will be CLOSED.
Detour is use WB US-12/Michigan or go further west on WB I-94 to NB US-24/Telegraph to EB US-12/Michigan to M-39/Southfield. (Extra detour time will be required as US-24/Telegraph at US-12/Michigan has emergency bridge work blocking lane on US-24/Telegraph.)
NB/SB M-39/Southfield Freeway, I-94 to Outer Drive, will have 2 LANES OPEN with traffic shifted to reconstruct Ecorse bridge.
MDOT detours traffic to other MDOT roads, i.e. US-24 and US-12, but drivers can expect to see heavier traffic on local roads as drivers adjust to these ramp closures.
