US-10 reopening today, June 2, after M-30 beam removal in Sanford
MT. PLEASANT, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is reopening both directions of US-10 in Midland County today, June 2, at the M-30 bridge in Sanford. Bridge beams that were set earlier this month were showing signs of cracking. MDOT closed US-10 on May 30 so crews could safely remove the beams.
Westbound US-10 was reopened this morning while eastbound US-10 is anticipated to reopen later in the afternoon. Two lanes of traffic will be open in each direction.
M-30 will remain closed over US-10 as a part of a $7.3 million project to improve the structure. Southbound M-30 traffic is currently detoured via westbound US-10, southbound W. River Road and eastbound US-10 back to southbound M-30. Northbound traffic is detoured via eastbound US-10, northbound Stark Road and westbound US-10 back to northbound M-30.
