Traffic Signing Standards
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is transmitting electronically one print of each of the subject standard plans for your review and approval. These revisions are a result of the Final Rule to Amend Title 23 Code of Federal Regulation Part 625; effective February 2, 2022. MDOT has amended the subject standard plans to meet the AASHTO LRFD Specifications for Structural Supports for Highway Signs, Luminaires, and Traffic Signals, 1st Edition, 2015, with 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 Interim Revisions. Revisions noted below indicating a change in size are primarily due to the design methodology change. Additional changes not specifically detailed below include updating font, dimension notations, and general notes for consistency with updated CADD standards. Details of the changes can be found in Change List for Sign Support Standard Plans.
