26 Mile Road closing over I-94 for approximately three days for bridge work in Macomb County
LENNOX, Mich. - Beginning 7 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 26 Mile Road will be closed over I-94 in Macomb County for approximately three days while crews perform an epoxy overlay and surface coating on the bridge. All entrance and exit ramps at I-94 and 26 Mile Road will remain open at this time.
26 Mile Road traffic have the following detours in place:
- Westbound 26 Mile Road: Take northbound County Line Road to westbound 31 Mile Road, then southbound M-19 (Gratiot Avenue) to southbound M-19 (Main Street/New Haven Road).
- Eastbound 26 Mile Road: Take northbound M-19 (Main Street/New Haven Road) to northbound M-19 (Gratiot Avenue), then eastbound 31 Mile Road to southbound County Line Road.
This work is part of the $32.5 million I-94 project from M-29 (23 Mile Road) to County Line Road, which includes bridge work at six locations, traffic signal upgrades, and partial ramp rebuilding at the I-94/M-19 and I-94/M-29 interchanges. Work will be completed by late fall.
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support about 393 jobs.
