US-12 project: Eastbound and westbound US-12 traffic shift, ramp closures at Greenfield Road in Dearborn start Saturday

DEARBORN, Mich. - Beginning early Saturday morning, July 8, through the end of July, the eastbound US-12 (Michigan Avenue) ramp to Greenfield Road will be closed along with the Greenfield Road ramp to eastbound US-12 (Michigan Avenue).

A traffic shift will also take place on eastbound and westbound US-12 (Michigan Avenue) to move traffic from the right lanes onto the newly resurfaced left lanes. This requires multiple lane closures to remove and reset barrels and signs, and may leave only one lane open. By the evening, there will be two lanes open on the new left lanes while work begins on the two right lanes.

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $17.9 million to mill and resurface US-12 (Michigan Avenue) between Oakwood Boulevard and Greenfield Road over a two-year period. The work includes curb/gutter, guardrail, and drainage improvements, along with traffic signal modernization, sidewalk upgrades, and sign upgrades.
