Reminder: MDOT’s public meeting for the US-24 (Telegraph Road) reconstruction project in Detroit
DETROIT/SOUTHFIELD, Mich. – The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting a public meeting to discuss the current US-24 (Telegraph Road) project from M-5 (Grand River Avenue) to M-102 (8 Mile Road) in the cities of Detroit and Southfield. There will be exhibits displaying project locations, types of work, and detours. Interested parties will have the opportunity to learn details about the project.

Project information:
MDOT is investing $54 million to rebuild 1.4 miles of US-24 (Telegraph Road) between M-5 (Grand River Avenue) to north of M-102 (8 Mile Road). This two-year project includes the reconstruction of US-24, improving five bridges, drainage and watermain improvements, sidewalk ramp improvements that are compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), sign replacements, and traffic signal improvements from the M-5 (Grand River Avenue) intersection to the M-102 (8 Mile Road) area where a diverging diamond interchange will be built to improve efficiency and enhance safety. The US-24/8 Mile Road interchange will be rebuilt in 2024.
There has been ongoing utility work above and below ground over the past few months and will continue. The construction portion recently began with sewer work at the US-24 and M-5 (Grand River Avenue) intersection.
