This two-year project includes the rebuilding of US-24, improving five bridges, drainage and watermain improvements, sidewalk ramp improvements compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), sign replacements, and traffic signal improvements from the M-5 (Grand River Avenue) intersection to the M-102 (8 Mile Road) area, where a diverging diamond interchange will be built to improve efficiency and enhance safety.
There has been ongoing utility relocation work above and below ground over the past few months and will continue. The construction portion is expected to begin on Monday, Feb. 27, with sewer work at the US-24/Grand River Avenue intersection. The US-24/8 Mile Road interchange will be rebuilt in 2024.
