This weekend's bridge beam setting on
I-94 in Detroit is cancelled
Fast facts:
- Westbound I-94 will be open in Detroit this weekend.
- Setting bridge beams on the Grand River Avenue overpass has been cancelled due to an expected high wind advisory for Saturday.
- The westbound I-94 closure from I-75 to I-96 will be rescheduled.
DETROIT, Mich. - Due to safety concerns, a high wind advisory expected for Saturday has forced the postponement of the planned westbound I-94 weekend closure from I-75 to I-96. Details will be announced when the rescheduled beam setting dates are confirmed.
The new Grand River Avenue overpass at I-94 will replace the original structure built in 1952. All work on this $14.6 million investment is schedule to be completed in spring 2023.
