I-96 resurfacing begins Friday in Grand Rapids
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing $6 million to resurface 5 miles of I-96 from the Grand River to Leonard Street.

Traffic restrictions:
I-96 will be closed, one direction at a time, between US-131 and Leonard Street. Traffic will be detoured using US-131 and I-196.
Jobs numbers:
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support 76 jobs.
Safety benefit: This work will provide a safer and smoother driving surface and extend the service life of I-96.
