MDOT virtual public meeting Nov. 18 to discuss 2024-2025 improvements on I-696 plaza structure in Oakland County
WHAT:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) invites the public to attend a virtual public meeting regarding the proposed improvements for the Z03 Plaza Structure that carries Church Street over I-696 in the city of Oak Park, Oakland County. Proposed improvements include replacing the plaza deck and beams along with all facilities on the plaza deck.
During this virtual meeting, there will be a brief presentation followed by a question-and-answer session. Questions can be submitted during the meeting using the chat tool.

BACKGROUND:
MDOT is currently preparing to start design work for these planned improvements.
Staging of the work zone is expected to begin in 2024 with most work expected to continue and finish in fall 2025. During their presentation, MDOT staff and consultants will share the history of the plaza structure, work that will be done, and concepts for what the top surface of the plaza deck may include.
