The on ramp from 36th Street to eastbound I-96 is scheduled to close 7 p.m. this Friday through late-November. 

Daytime lane closures for road work will be in effect through Friday, October 8 on eastbound (5 a.m. to 4 p.m.) and westbound (9 a.m. to 8 p.m.) I-96 from 36th Street to just west of Whitneyville Avenue. Friday's lane closures are scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The work is weather dependent.

PROJECT DETAILS:

Work this season includes temporary widening and building median crossovers to maintain traffic for next year’s rebuild of eastbound and westbound I-96 between Thornapple River Drive and Whitneyville Avenue.  

TRAFFIC IMPACT:

Lane and shoulder closures will be in effect through late November.

SAFETY BENEFITS:

This project will increase safety, improve the ride quality and extend the service life of the roadway.
