Right-turn lane construction on US-31/M-37 at 14th Street in Traverse City starts next week

PROJECT:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be investing $294,000 to build a right-turn lane for northbound US-31/M-37 traffic turning east onto 14th Street in Traverse City. This project also includes new pavement markings for a dual left turn from 14th Street onto US-31 southbound; the width of 14th Street at the intersection will not change.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:
This work will require closing the outer northbound lane of US-31 during construction, as well as other shifts of northbound traffic.
SAFETY BENEFITS:
Paired with new traffic signal equipment at this and other locations in the Traverse City area, this project will help enhance traffic flow and ease congestion at this intersection.
