Cass Avenue bridge above I-94 in Detroit

closed until Sunday for repair

 

            Fast facts:

            - The Cass Avenue bridge over I-94 in Detroit is currently closed for repair work.

            - The closure of Cass Avenue between West Palmer Avenue and Antoinette Street will remain in place until    Sunday, March 22.

            - Motorists can use M-1 (Woodward Avenue) to cross over I-94.

           

            March 18, 2020 -- The Michigan Department of Transportation has closed the Cass Avenue overpass above I-94 in Detroit for bridge deck repair. Cass will remain closed until 5 a.m. Sunday, March 22, between West Palmer Avenue and Antoinette Street. During the closure, all motorists and nonmotorized traffic can use nearby M-1 (Woodward Avenue) to cross over I-94.

 

                       Originally constructed in 1955, a contract to replace the Cass Avenue overpass is scheduled to be opened for competitive bidding in 2021.
