Asphalt sealing on M-routes in three counties
begins Monday
COUNTIES:
Ionia, Kent and Montcalm (see map below)
HIGHWAYS:
M-21, M-44, M-66 and M-91
CLOSEST CITIES:
Belding, Ionia and Lowell
START DATE:
Monday, July 15, 2019
ESTIMATED END DATE:
Late September 2019
PROJECT DETAILS:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing approximately $513,000 to seal asphalt cracks on more than 100 miles of state trunkline through Ionia, Kent and Montcalm counties. The routes include:
- M-21 from Valley Visa Drive in Lowell to the Ionia/Clinton county line,
- M-44 from Blakely Drive east to the Kent/Ionia county line,
- M-44 from M-91 east to Water Street near the city of Belding,
- M-91 from M-44 north to Snows Lake Road, and
- M-66 from south of I-96 north to Sprague Road.
Single-lane closures will be in effect. Check www.Michigan.gov/Drive for project progression.
This work will improve the ride quality and extend the service life of the roadway.
