US-23, M-65 chip sealing in Presque Isle and Alcona counties starts May 1

PROJECT:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $1.7 million to chip seal a little more than 26 miles of US-23 and M-65, including:
- 11.4 miles of US-23 in Presque Isle County from the south county line to County Road 638. Project map: https://bit.ly/2V2lL7S
- 10.1 miles of US-23 in Presque Isle County from State Park Road to the Ocqueoc River. Project map: https://bit.ly/2PEULFA
- 5 miles of M-65 in Alcona County from McCollum Road to south of VanWagoner Road. Project map: https://bit.ly/2PEVBCe
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:
This project includes new pavement markings and rumble strips.
SAFETY FEATURES:
This work will require daytime single-lane closures under flag control.
