Public meeting in Grand Rapids next
week for westbound I-196 bridge project
WHAT:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is hosting a public meeting about this year's work on westbound I-196 over the Grand River at the US-131 interchange. MDOT officials will provide project details, scheduling and traffic information. The public is invited to stop by anytime during the meeting to learn more about the project and provide comments.

PROJECT:
MDOT is investing $21.4 million to widen and reconstruct the westbound I-196 bridge over the Grand River at the US-131 interchange. The project includes deck replacement, painting, barrier wall replacement, and substructure reinforcement.
The wider bridge will accommodate wider shoulders and additional lanes to better connect westbound I-196 to the US-131 interchange.
