MDOT to host public meeting for M-59 project in Highland Township

 

WHAT:

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will host an open house-style public meeting to discuss an upcoming 2019 project on M-59 between Milford Road and Tipsico Lake Road. The work will include cold milling and resurfacing, reconstruction, a nonmotorized path, drainage upgrades, and sign replacement.

PROJECT DETAILS:

MDOT is investing $16.6 million to perform road repairs along 3.2 miles of M-59 between Milford Road and Tipsico Lake Road in Highland Township, Oakland County.  

 

The project includes milling and resurfacing on westbound M-59, reconstruction on eastbound M-59, raised shoulder reconstruction, the addition of a shared use path, drainage improvements, sign replacement and upgrades, signal upgrades, and pavement markings.

This work is expected to be completed with single-lane closures along M-59. Crossovers will be temporarily closed with side roads detoured. The 2019 project is expected to begin in the spring and be completed by the fall.
