Know before you go! Sign up now for free MDOT traffic alerts
October 22, 2018 -- The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) encourages all Michigan motorists to sign up to receive free traffic alert e-mails and/or texts at https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/MIDOT/subscriber/new. The alerts will show traffic restrictions due to crashes, emergency situations, planned construction or events that impact the normal flow of traffic. The e-mails are designed to be clear and concise, with the location and type of restriction in the subject line. For example: "Ramp closure: NB US-131 to EB I-196, Kent County, Date." This allows subscribers to quickly see if the message applies to them. Subscribers can tailor their alerts by choosing any of the 13 counties in MDOT’s Grand Region: Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, Lake, Mason, Mecosta, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Osceola, and Ottawa. Subscribers can always sign up for more or unsubscribe at any time. ### Visit MDOT's Mi Drive traffic information website: www.michigan.gov/drive www.twitter.com/MDOT_West | www.facebook.com/MichiganDOT | www.youtube.com/MichiganDOT
