Helmer Road resurfacing starts Monday in Battle Creek

 

COUNTY:

Calhoun

 

HIGHWAY:

M-96/I-94 Business Loop (BL) (Helmer Road)

 

CLOSEST CITIES:

Battle Creek and Springfield

 

START DATE:

Monday, Sept. 17, 2018

 

ESTIMATED END DATE:

Thursday, Nov. 15, 2018

 

PROJECT:

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be resurfacing 1.9 miles of M-96/I-94 BL from Columbia Avenue to west of the M-37 intersection at Dickman Road. Construction includes sidewalk ramp reconstruction.

SAFETY BENEFITS:

The new road surface will provide motorists with a smoother, more durable and safer ride. The new sidewalk ramps will improve accessibility for pedestrians.

 

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:

There will be single-lane closures on M-96/I-94 BL. Sidewalk ramps will be closed during construction.
