M-46 culvert replacement detour from Chapin Road to Iva Road in Saginaw County starts July 6

PROJECT:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will detour M-46 between Hemlock Road and Meridian Road to accommodate replacement of four culverts. This work is part of an overall $13 million investment to reconstruct 10.4 miles of M-46 from M-52 to the west village limit of Merrill.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:
Beginning July 6 through Aug. 31, M-46 traffic from Chapin Road to Iva Road will detoured via Meridian Road, Frost Road, and Hemlock Road. To help maintain additional traffic on the suggested detour route, the Frost Road/Orr Road intersection will operate as a temporary four-way stop.
The remaining work zone from the west village limit of Merrill through M-52 will be maintained with flag control.


Additional Note: A tile drain replacement project is currently underway in Richland Township. Residents with specific project-related questions are encouraged to reach out to the appropriate project manager contact.
