Work on US-2, M-35 bridges to start May 14

PROJECT:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is investing $1.2 million to restore two bridges on US-2/US-41 and M-35. Work on the US-2/US-41 bridge over the Ford River near Hyde in Delta County will begin on May 14 and be completed by the end of June. Then, the contractor will move to the M-35 bridge over the Cedar River in Menominee County. The projects will include replacing pins and hangers, painting, and deck patching. All work will be completed by early October. The Cedar River bridge will have a two-year bridge paint warranty.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:
One lane will be open in alternating directions with temporary traffic signals.

These projects will help preserve the overall condition of the structures while improving safety and increasing ride quality on the bridges.
