The Michigan Department of Transportation Veterans Internship Program is accepting applications for the following positions:

 

Veteran Intern (Janitor E5) - International Bridge - Sault Ste. Marie

Salary:   $15.81 Hourly

Job Description:  Perform a variety of janitorial and custodial duties in all International Bridge Administration buildings as well as all Canada Border Services Agency buildings.  Duties include but are not limited to:  mop floors (with hand mop and motorized floor scrubbing machine), shake rugs, vacuum all carpet, wash windows, clean bathrooms, dust, empty garbage, recycle program, and maintain adequate supply of cleaning supplies.

Veteran Intern (Secretary) - Operations Administrative Services - Lansing, MI

Salary:   $18.16 Hourly

Job Description:  This position will provide assistance to professional staff in the office related to appointments, meetings, conferences, and tracking and following up on assignments and due dates.  Position will operate a computer to produce a variety of documents, reports, charts, and graphs; maintain information in databases; and maintain various record management systems.  Incumbent must be able to maintain confidentiality.

Veteran Intern (Trades Helper/Laborer) - Operations Administrative Services - Lansing, MI

Salary:   $17.25 Hourly

Job Description:  This position is responsible for providing assistance in the areas of facilities maintenance, repair, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, masonry, and carpentry on Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) facilities.  Position will also be responsible for assisting in inventory, organizing, and coordinating facilities maintenance area, functions, and operations.
