BACKGROUND:

The $220 million   I-75 Rouge River project began in early 2017 with the first phase between   Clark Avenue in Detroit and West Road in Woodhaven. In order to get the   project finished as quickly and as safely as possible, crews closed the   southbound lanes of the freeway. The second phase began with work to replace   the concrete on an additional 2-mile stretch of I-75 from Springwells Street   to Clark Avenue. These phases will continue through the end of 2018.

The next phase begins   this spring with work to repair 11 bridges between Northline Road and Sibley   Road, and requires moving the re-entry point for I-75 further south to the southbound   US-24 (Telegraph Road) connector, between Eureka Road and Sibley Road to   re-enter southbound I-75.
