Intercity bus service returns to Port Huron,
connecting to Amtrak trains and other cities

December 7, 2017 -- Port Huron now has more travel options thanks to Miller Transportation/Hoosier Ride offering twice-daily intercity bus service between the Port Huron Amtrak station and Detroit. Hoosier Ride also provides a convenient Amtrak Thruway Bus Connection to the Wolverine Service trains at the Amtrak station in Detroit.
Hoosier Ride opens connections between Port Huron and several mid-Michigan locations via Amtrak, including Ann Arbor and Jackson, as well as the national bus network in cities including Detroit and Kalamazoo. In addition to the new bus service in Port Huron, Amtrak also provides daily service by the Blue Water (Trains 364 and 365) to and from Chicago via East Lansing and Flint.
Operating under a two-year demonstration contract with the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), Miller Transportation/Hoosier Ride is filling a service gap between Port Huron and Detroit. Funding is provided by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) with an in-kind match from Miller Transportation.
