M-46 carpool lot in Saginaw closed indefinitely following sale of building

 

Fast facts:

- MDOT has removed the designate carpool lot on M-46 (Holland Avenue) in the city of Saginaw.

- This location was designated as a carpool lot after MDOT's region office was moved to a new location.

- The sale of the existing building is complete and funds will be contributed to the general transportation fund.

 

September 28, 2017 -- Due to the recent sale of Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) property in the city of Saginaw, the existing carpool lot on M-46 (Holland Avenue)at East Morley Drive is closed effective immediately.

            In September 2014, the MDOT Bay Region office was moved from its former East Morley Drive address to its current location at 5859 Sherman Road in Saginaw. Following the move, the previous region office building's adjacent parking lot was designated a carpool lot as a public service. With the sale of that property now final, the site is no longer a designated carpool lot. Proceeds from the sale will be contributed to the general transportation fund.
