Northbound US-127 in Lansing to close the weekend of Aug. 11 for pavement repairs
COUNTY: Ingham
ROADWAY: Northbound US-127
CLOSEST CITY: Lansing
CLOSING DATE: Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, at 9 p.m.
REOPENING DATE: Monday, Aug. 14, 2017, at 7 a.m.
PROJECT: This weekend, the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will oversee a concrete joint repair project on northbound US-127, between I-496 and Lake Lansing Rd., in Lansing.
TRAFFIC IMPACTS: During construction, northbound US-127 will be closed between I-496 and Lake Lansing Road. The closure is expected to start at 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 11, and continue until 7 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 14. All work is weather dependent.
When northbound US-127 is closed, the detour will direct motorists to westbound I-496 to northbound I-96, to eastbound I-69, back to northbound US-127.
Access from eastbound I-496 and from the Trowbridge Road ramp, will be maintained using Homer Street and the Kalamazoo Street exit.
Access from the M-43 (Grand River Avenue) ramp will be maintained using the auxiliary lane of northbound US-127.
This project will result in a smoother driving surface and increased safety, and will extend the lifespan of the roadway.
