M-51 resurfacing starts Monday
between Dowagiac and Decatur

PROJECT:
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be resurfacing more than 9 miles of M-51 from the north city limit of Dowagiac, Cass County, to Swartwood Drive west of Decatur, Van Buren County. The $1.3 million investment includes adding centerline rumble strips.

SAFETY BENEFITS:
This project will provide an improved road surface for a safer, smoother ride. Centerline rumble strips notify drivers of crossing into oncoming traffic.
TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS:
Single-lane closures.
