84th Street bridge improvements begin

over US-131 in Byron Center

PROJECT DETAILS:        

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will invest $300,000 to improve the 84th Street bridge over US-131 with joint replacement, substructure repairs, approach work and an epoxy coating to seal the bridge deck and hinder moisture intrusion.

TRAFFIC IMPACT:

Lane closures on US-131 will be in effect during nights only. Starting June 5, 84th Street will have one lane open in each direction for approximately three weeks. During this time, left turns will be prohibited to and from the US-131 ramps.

 

SAFETY BENEFITS: This project will improve and maintain a smooth driving surface as well as extend the service life of the bridge.
