PROJECT DETAILS:

MDOT is   investing $1.8 million to improve approximately 2 miles of M-59 between   Williams Lake Road and Airport Road. The project includes concrete patching,   repairing catch basins, and pavement markings. One lane will be open in each   direction, with work performed at night and during off-peak hours for lighter   traffic near the work zone. Work is scheduled to begin in June and is   expected to be completed in October.

SAFETY BENEFITS:

This work will   provide a smoother driving surface and help maintain safety. Repairing catch   basins will help prevent water on the roadway that could cause hydroplaning   or flooding, and new pavement markings will help motorists more easily identify   lanes during darkness or poor weather.
